A small opening came out near the crystalline brook where the prospector's campsite once was. Arcelia noticed something between the rocks. She picked up the wooden sculpture that the horse-whisperer had made. The girl entered the schoolhouse museum to give her venerable grandmother the figure. Wow tended to Arcelia's arm, and then the woman placed the small-scale simulacrum of the forgotten man and his horse in a collection of gold mining equipment.
"Right where they belong," Wow smiled.
About the story. Molson, a ghost town located in the Northeastern region of Washington (state), beside the Canadian border has genuine antique mining equipment and farm implements filling an outdoor museum right out of the Old West. During summer months roller skating is held on Friday nights at the Grange. For sledding in winter there is a road on Fletcher Hill, that slopes downward for coasting more than a mile.
